Proper Walk 2010

Proper Walk 2010

The fifth biannual Proper Walk has been completed and all Walkers have returned safely. The Walk took place in the Tiati Mountains in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. Six Walkers, one guide, and eight camel guys hiked 155 miles in 10 days and raised $70,000 for the AIDS orphans of Makindu.

For information about the 2010 Proper Walk please go to journals of this year’s Walk.

The 2010 Proper Walk was the wettest of the five Walks with the Walkers enduring six days of rain in the Tiati Mountains in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya’ s Northern Frontier District. Six Walkers, one guide, and eight camel guys hiked 155 difficult miles in 10 days and raised over $80,000 for the AIDS orphans of Makindu.

On behalf of the Proper Walk, please make a tax exempt donation to the Makindu Children’s Program.

Below are the journals from the Walkers that provide exciting insights into the 2010 Walk including their encounters with the pastoral Pokot, crossing swollen rivers, and the dogs who wouldn’t go away.
